Fred Ebb

Fred Ebb was an American lyricist best known for his long collaboration with composer John Kander, writing lyrics for numerous Broadway musicals including Cabaret and Chicago. His work is theatrical and character-driven, often conversational and sharply observed, well suited to urban settings and morally complex stories. He died in 2004.
