Fennesz

Christian Fennesz is an Austrian guitarist and electronic musician who combines heavily processed electric guitar with laptop-based signal processing to create dense, melodic ambient and glitch textures. His work mixes elements of shoegaze, drone, and electronic experimentation, often layering shimmering guitar tones and fragmented digital noise into extended instrumental pieces. He has collaborated with other experimental musicians, including Ryuichi Sakamoto, and is associated with a late 1990s and 2000s generation of artists exploring the laptop as an instrument.
