Donny Hathaway

Donny Hathaway was an American soul singer, pianist, songwriter and arranger known for a gospel-influenced vocal style, a warm and expressive baritone, and piano-driven, emotionally resonant performances. He combined intimate balladry with rich, sophisticated arrangements, worked frequently as a collaborator and session musician, and is regarded as an influential figure within soul and R&B. He died in 1979.
