Dave Van Ronk

Dave Van Ronk was an American folk and blues singer and guitarist associated with the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene. He was known for a gravelly vocal style and fingerstyle guitar work that drew on blues, jazz, and ragtime, and for his distinctive interpretations of traditional material. Van Ronk was an influential presence and mentor to younger folk musicians and remained closely identified with the Village club circuit until his death in 2002.
