Courtney Pine

Courtney Pine is a British jazz saxophonist and bandleader known for blending traditional and contemporary jazz with Caribbean, reggae, soul and hip-hop influences. He performs on soprano, alto and tenor saxophones and bass clarinet, and was involved with the Jazz Warriors collective that emerged in the UK in the 1980s. His work is associated with bringing modern, genre-crossing jazz approaches to wider UK audiences while combining improvisation with elements of popular and world music.
