Christophe

Christophe, born Daniel Bevilacqua, was a French singer-songwriter who died in 2020. Emerging in the 1960s, he was known for a melancholic, romantic take on pop and chanson, characterized by an intimate, husky vocal delivery and carefully arranged instrumentation. Over his career he moved from early pop and rock influences toward more sophisticated, sometimes electronics-inflected production, creating a restrained and atmospheric sound that became closely associated with his work.
