Chico Science

Chico Science was a Brazilian singer and bandleader associated with the Manguebeat movement who fronted Nação Zumbi; he blended Pernambuco’s traditional rhythms such as maracatu with rock, hip hop, funk and electronic textures to create an urban, percussive sound. He died in 1997.
