Asobi Seksu

Asobi Seksu was an American band active from 2001 to 2013, known for blending shoegaze and dream pop textures with indie pop sensibilities. Their sound combined heavily effected, layered guitars and reverb-heavy production with pulsing rhythm sections and the breathy, often bilingual vocals of Yuki Chikudate, creating a contrast between delicate vocal lines and dense, noisy arrangements. They were part of an early 2000s wave that revived shoegaze and dream pop influences within the contemporary indie scene.
