Artists United Against Apartheid

Artists United Against Apartheid was a short-lived US musical collective formed in 1985 to protest South Africa's apartheid system. Organized by musician Steven Van Zandt, the project brought together performers from rock, pop, hip-hop, and other genres to record a protest single and related material; its sound mixed rock and pop with funk and early hip-hop influences, reflecting the diverse lineup.
