Art Blakey

Art Blakey was an American jazz drummer and bandleader associated with the hard bop movement. He led the Jazz Messengers, a group built around blues-rooted melodies, punchy rhythms, and dynamic group interplay, and he was known for a powerful, propulsive drumming style and for mentoring many younger jazz musicians.
