Anthony Braxton

Anthony Braxton is an American composer, multi-instrumentalist, and improviser whose work bridges avant-garde jazz and experimental contemporary composition. He is known for exploring extended techniques on saxophones and other reed instruments, for using complex notation and graphic scores, and for structuring performances around systems that combine composition and free improvisation. Braxton's output spans solo and large-ensemble projects and he has been active as a performer, composer, and educator.
