Alexander "Skip" Spence

Alexander "Skip" Spence was an American musician associated with the 1960s San Francisco psychedelic scene. He played drums early in Jefferson Airplane, co-founded Moby Grape and later recorded the solo album Oar, a sparse and experimental collection that blended folk, blues and psychedelic elements. His work is often noted for its raw, introspective quality, unconventional arrangements and distinctive vocal delivery. He struggled with health and personal issues during his life and died in 1999.
