Smiley Smile

Smiley Smile (1967) finds The Beach Boys paring back their sound after the aborted Smile project, presenting a sparse, intimate take on psychedelic pop and baroque pop with experimental touches. It includes reworked Smile-era material such as "Heroes and Villains" and "Vegetables", and emphasizes close vocal harmonies, minimalist organ and piano textures, and short, fragmentary arrangements.
